WEGO-PGA Suture
WEGO sutures covers all the suture lines including Absorbable and Non-Absorbable sutures approved by ISO, CE and FDA, marketing globally under the umbrella of Product Liability Insurance since 2007.
Strong and sharp needle combined well with soft and smooth thread with sophisticated manufacturing process, offering various easy-to-use packaging that makes WEGO sutures become the reliable choice of surgery.
Foosin Medical mainly manufacturing surgical sutures, suture needles and wound dressings. Our main equipment is imported from US and EURO, secured by the strictly quality control and the advantage manufacturing control, our suture and suture needle products own the best quality in China.
We have full production line of surgical needles from USA. The procedures was updated form traditional US needle manufacturer that supplied to Ethicon over 30 years. The precision needle testing machine was intrduced from US in the same modle with Ethicon/B. Braun/Covidien, we use it on the full procedures of needle manufacturing, and this makes our needle same quality with US needles on Sharpness/Bending/Ductility.
All of our sutures already obtain CE mark and FDA 510K. We are still expanding our sutures to get CE and FDA 510K. We will become the first one China suture manfuacturer haveing the full lines sutures to be CE marked and FDA510K registered from 2016, which inluding PGA, PGLA, PDO, PGCL, Rapid PGA, Rapid PGLA, Chromic Catgut, Plain Catgut, Silk, Nylon(Polyamide), Polypropylene, Polyester, PTFE(Teflon), PVDF and UHDPE sutures.
What are the chemical components of WEGO-PGA sutures? Are they safe?
WEGO-PGA sutures are made of 100% Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) and coated with Polycrystallochine and Calcium Stearate. The product has obtained CE certification and FDA 510K approval, and complies with ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality standards. Its safety and biocompatibility have been rigorously validated. |
What is the absorption time of PGA sutures? Is it necessary to remove the sutures after surgery?
WEGO-PGA sutures are completely absorbed through hydrolysis within 60-80 days and do not require removal. Their tensile strength gradually decreases over time (retaining 75% strength after 14 days, 40% after 21 days), making them suitable for soft tissue suturing that requires mid-term wound support. |
What types of surgeries are PGA sutures suitable for?
PGA sutures are suitable for general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, plastic surgery, subcutaneous and intradermal suturing, gynecology, ophthalmology, pediatric surgeries, and ligation procedures. The specific type of suture should be chosen based on the surgical site and the doctor’s recommendation. |
hat adverse reactions may occur after using PGA sutures? How to avoid them?
In rare cases, local inflammatory reactions may occur due to individual differences. It is recommended to confirm that the patient has no history of allergy to PGA or coating components before surgery. Avoid excessive tension during suturing and strictly follow aseptic operation specifications. The product is sterilized with ethylene oxide to ensure sterility. |
What is the difference between PGA suture and WEGO-RPGA? How to choose?
WEGO-RPGA (fast absorption type) is completely absorbed within 62-63 days, and the tensile strength decreases faster (55% after 7 days, only 5% after 21 days), which is suitable for short-term wound support (such as subcutaneous suture, dental surgery). If longer-term support is required (such as gastrointestinal anastomosis), it is recommended to choose standard PGA suture. |
How to store PGA sutures? What is the shelf life?
The product should be stored in a dry, light-proof, room temperature environment, avoiding high temperature or humidity. The specific shelf life should refer to the packaging label (usually 3-5 years). Unused sutures after opening should be disposed of in accordance with medical waste regulations. |
